Google suspends Map Maker because of vandalism

Google is suspending a service that allowed members of the public to contribute to its maps, following vandalism.
Map Maker allowed users to draw features, adding roads, rivers, green spaces and local businesses.
But some edits, such as an image of its Android mascot urinating on an Apple logo, were not as welcome.
Google said that the shutdown is "temporary" but admitted that it will take
more than a few days to fix.

Floppy disk drives play 'Game of Thrones' theme song

One type of cover music you may not have heard of is called FDD, or floppy disk drive music.
Yes, floppy disks. Remember those? The hardware has been long tossed aside, but a legion of technophiles have resurrected the old PC components to produce music.
YouTube user Arganalth has an amazing version of Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. Gigawipf uses 14 floppy disk drives and a hard drive to eek out Soft Cell's 'Tainted Love'. And for the past three years, Anand Jain, known on YouTube as MrSolidSnake745, has been using floppy disk drives to c
over everything from Bach, Beethoven and Disney, to Niki Minaj, video game music, and EDM.
His 2-minute long floppy disk drive version of 'The Game of Thrones' theme has gotten over 1.8 million views on YouTube since he first published it in 2012.

Is Windows 10 the 'last version' of Windows? It doesn't matter

As Microsoft made clear last year by skipping Windows 9 when going from Windows 8 to Windows 10, Windows version numbers are an arbitrary thing.
That's why all this talk about Windows 10, the upcoming version of Microsoft's operating system, being the "last version of Windows" is a "nothing to see here" moment.
Many of us Microsoft watchers had been saying that Threshold (Windows 10) would be the last major version of Windows for months, if not a year. (Windows 10 is due to start rolling out around the middle of the year.) Microsoft Developer Evangelist Jerry Nixon said the same thing last week at Ignite in a session titled "Tiles, Notifications and Action Center."
